Likud: We Will Promote Law Stopping Arab Immigration

The Likud party announced Thursday that “the opposition will promote the right-wing law regarding putting a stop to Arab immigration to Israel -- Basic Law Bill: Immigration to Israel.”

Religious Zionism chair, lawmaker Bezalel Smotrich, referred to the bill as well, saying that for the first time there is a clear majority to pass it.

“The current laws preventing families’ unification have been based on dilapidated foundations and were perforated over the years like Swiss cheese,” Smotrich said.

“Thousands of Palestinians receive citizenship every year via a clause for exceptions. For the first time in many years, there is a solid right-wing majority in the Knesset that allows enacting a basic immigration law with a large majority that will preserve Jewish majority and Israel’s security.”

Smutrich Responds to the Lack of a Majority in the Coalition to Pass the Family Reunification Law

Chairman of the Religious Zionism party Bezalel Smutrich responded to the lack of a majority in the coalition to pass the Family Reunification Law due to opposition from Meretz and Ra'am:

"I see an organized, purposefully timed, and hypocritical campaign of a left-wing party regarding the Family Reunification Act.

Let's clarify:

For months we have been shouting that forming a government that relies on Israel's enemies that support terrorism is a disaster for the Jewish state- and that such a coalition will not only be unable to safeguard the vital interests of the State of Israel, but will harm them.

Bennett, due to irresponsible and uncontrollable lust for power and revenge, explained that it is possible to "put everything aside", and deliberately torpedoed the formation of a right-wing government that was within reach, breaking every democratic value and crossing every red line, and joined the far left and supporters of terrorism to force himself on the citizens of Israel as head of administration with six seats.

Now, as usual, he is running spins and manipulations and rolling his eyes and pushing the responsibility onto the opposition.

We have a huge responsibility on our shoulders for the people of Israel and the State of Israel. This responsibility obliges us first and foremost to expose the lies and burn onto our consciousness the existential threat of relying on supporters of terrorism, to prevent such a terrible mistake in the future, overthrow this evil government and establish a good Zionist government for Israel in its place.

It is not a "created rule", and in general, our desire to bring the right back to power is not an obscene idea. This is our mission. The government is a means of promoting values and good policy for Israel, and only a right-wing government from the national camp will do that.

The opposition has not yet decided how to proceed, but one thing should be clear: in forming an extreme left-wing government with supporters of terrorism, Bennett and his allies have harmed, and continue to harm, Israel's security and the Jewish majority of the state. The responsibility for this is on them and them alone. Our responsibility is to show them the door out of the political system, as soon as possible."

Bezalel Smotrich reacts to Bennett’s apologists on Twitter
Smotrich twitted, “All the saints who are abandoning Bennett over going along with the left as his only choice, listen up: Bennett let Netanyahu take on establishing the right wing government and didn’t contribute to its completion (he was only distracting). With me, for instance, he didn’t meet me even once to try to advance the process. A left wing government is Bennett’s personal project. Look at his meeting Marathon today.”

Smotrich Tells Bennett to 'Sober Up'
Chair of Religious Zionism, Israeli lawmaker Bezalel Smotrich, criticized Sunday Naftali Bennett over his attempts to form a government with the anti-Netanyahu bloc. “In the best-case scenario you are sitting on the fence waiting for [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s failure to build a Left government headed by you,” Smotrich wrote on social media. “It is not too late to sober up,” the right-wing leader continued. “Have a change of heart and let’s join forces to form a Right government. A prime minister charing a party of 7 mandates is not legitimate. That destroys democracy and undermines its most basic rationales.” Earlier, the Yamina faction released a statement to the media, saying that all its members stand united behind Bennett in order to prevent a fifth election. “The preference is to form a Right government first, and in the meantime, act to form a national unity government,” Bennett’s party stated. The High Court: The hospitals have no authority to prevent a person from entering with leavened food on Passover. Smotrich protests: "High Court continues to destroy Jewish state principles". Justices Uzi Fogelman and Ofer Grosskopf ruled (Thursday) that the sweeping ban on bringing food into the medical centers during the holiday violates fundamental rights, especially the autonomy of the individual and religious freedom. It was further ruled that the prohibition violates the patient's dignity and recognition of his right to self-determination and the exercise of his choices and preferences. "We hope that those involved will find a way to preserve and protect the delicate human fabric that characterizes hospitals, which welcome patients of all walks of Israeli society and responsible for providing equitable service that puts the health and well-being of every patient at the center," Judge Fogelman wrote. Transport Minister Bezalel Smotrich strongly criticized the High Court's decision. "The High Court continues to destroy the principles of the Jewish state and imposes abnormal progressive principles undemocratically and without authority," the minister said. "And in general, the High Court seems to be running the state and making more and more decisions in a way that is tarnishes the democratic system of and by the people." Source: Walla! News
