A History of Israeli Ties with Morocco In contrast to relations with the Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan, Israel's relationship with Morocco is long, rich, and consists of various layers of political, intelligence, military, and civilian cooperation. The Mossad established a branch in Morocco in 1963. The need to regulate Jewish immigration was an important incentive for cooperation between Israel the Moroccan institution. This led to a relationship that lasted for many years. Militarily, Israel assisted Morocco in its fight against the Algerian-backed Western Sahara Polisario Front and fought for the region's independence. After Spain decided to evacuate this territory in 1975, Morocco decided to take over large areas. The Israeli assistance mainly included consulting in the construction of a security fence made of sand and trenches. The expansion of civil ties was made possible, among other things, by the existence of tourism ties. These ties began in the 1980s. In 2019 alone, about 45,000 Israelis visited Morocco, even though there were no direct flights. Source: Walla News ?? IF YOU LOVE ISRAEL - SHARE NEWSRAEL! ??
