Another illegal road in Judea & Samaria Author: Regavim Movement Just imagine that one day, in central Israel, someone would randomly pave a dangerous road that meets a busy highway. If there was no planning, no permits, and no oversight, what would happen? Yup, that person would probably be arrested, and the project would be halted. But things work a little differently in Judea and Samaria, to the detriment of Arab and Jewish residents alike. Take, for example, the case next to the Ein Samia quarry, which is just north of Kochav HaShachar in the Binyamin region. The quarry is in Area B, under the civil control of the Palestinian Authority. However, criminals have recently started work on a new road in Area C that will illegally connect between the quarry and the Allon Road, a main route for communities in eastern Binyamin and the Jordan Valley. This isn’t the first time that criminals have violated the law and tried to pave a road at this location. In the past, their efforts were stopped by the Civil Administration due to damage caused to the nearby archaeological site of Ein Samia. The criminals are trying their luck a second time. If this new road were to open, it would constitute a huge safety hazard because of the many trucks at the quarry turning on and off the windy Allon Road. Not to mention the further damage to the rule of law and Israeli legal rights in the Battle for Area C. Regavim has alerted the Civil Administration about this new project. We must wake up! Judea and Samaria are key parts of our ancestral homeland; they should not be the State of Israel’s neglected backyard where people can do whatever they like. Source: Regavim's Facebook page ??
