Should Israel Begin Direct Elections for Prime Minister? The upcoming Israeli elections will take place on March 23rd, 2021. The election system in Israel works differently than in the United States. While in the U.S. the elections are directly between candidates for President, in Israel the elections are between parties. The Knesset (the Israeli Congress) has 120 Seats, and therefore all legal votes in the elections get divided into 120 mandates. The head of the party that gets the most mandates, gets a green light from the President to form a coalition (with a majority of at least 61 Knesset Members) and if he/she succeeds he/she becomes Prime Minister. What do you think of this election system? Is it too complicated? Should Israel begin direct elections for Prime Minister, like in the United States? If the current process is acceptable to the Israeli people continue the election process..if not then tbe Israeli people should have the right to select their Prime Minister.

I feel that to truly get an honest election there can be no electronic machines involved. Hand marked ballots in person on voting day.

Only if mail in ballots are moderately properly. Stealing in the Presidential voting in the USA made that possible. Bide is not the legal president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

update and teiple check the voter rolls test and check the voting machines hand count and verify each vote by hand and verify legality. protect from outside influence. USA GREAT EXAMPLE

Your system of election would be much less complicated than it is now. However, with mankind there is no perfect system and in being an American citizen I don't offer advice, just an opinion
