The Coracias Garrulus is a bird which you do not want to miss an opportunity to capture in your camera lens. In Hebrew its name is "Kachal", which comes from his blue ("Kachol" in Hebrew) colors.

It's English name, the Eurpean Roller, comes from its acrobatic flight during mating season.

These days, as the seasons change and autumn is on its way, this magnificent bird is passing over our heads in Israel and is making a stop here on its way south to nest and feed its chicks.
