The Nimrod Fortress is the largest surviving castle from the Middle Ages, dating back to the 13th century. In more recent history, the castle was used by the Syrians as an artillery observation point during the 1967 war. Since then it’s been renovated and declared a National Park.
Its location at the foot of Mt. Hermon offers some spectacular views of the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee.
