OPINION: A Glimpse Into the PR War that Iran is Waging- And Losing
Newsrael News Desk 19.04.2021
The explosion at the Natanz nuclear site a few days ago not only damaged the uranium enrichment capacity of the Iranians and the centrifuges but also further damaged the public opinion of Iran.
Following the Natanz incident, the Revolutionary Guards published a news item on a limited number of news platforms about an attack by Iranian special forces against a Mossad facility in Iraq. According to Iranian sources, the attack was successful and there were casualties among Mossad forces.
After several hours when no further news sources verified the information or reported the attack, the Iranian PR forces increased their output.
They bought a web domain, created a site, and planted an entire article about the attack in Iraq, including a quote from Professor Yitzhak Rice from Tel Hashomer Medical Center about the condition of 6 wounded who were supposedly flown to the hospital for treatment.
Anyone who decided to check the credibility of the reports would find that the web domain in which the article was published was purchased 24 hours earlier, making it simple to see that this is Fake News.
Needless to say, no attack has been carried out against Mossad personnel and Israel has no casualties from any incident on Iraqi soil.
The motivation behind these lies is the situation on the streets of Iran. The decision-makers are trying to be creative in trying to present victories and achievements to benefit from the opinion of the Iranian people.
The explosive device planted at the Natanz nuclear site had not been placed there in recent days. The operation was, presumably, planned over months and began planning several years ago.
Because of this, it's safe to assume that in the coming months we will not see Israeli squadrons dropping tons of bombs on nuclear sites throughout Iran. While the plan to disrupt the Iranian nuclear program will continue in one form or another - we can only guess what else is in Israel's long-range plan.
