If a lockdown won’t be reintroduced, schools will reopen as usual on September 1, head of public health services in the Health Ministry Dr. Sharon Alroy Preis told Walla! News on Monday.
However, if ascending morbidity will continue at the current rate -- and even increase -- there will be no choice but to shut down the entire economy, including the education system, she warned.
“We are doing everything to stop the morbidity and not arrive at this junction,” Alroy Preis added.
Director-General of the Health Ministry, Prof. Nachman Ash, said Sunday that he hopes to see a reduction in the number of serious cases this week. However, according to many estimates, in two weeks, the number of confirmed infections and serious Covid-19 cases will double itself and only then Israel could see a reduction in morbidity.
