Due to the continuing decline in the purchasing power of the Iranians, the activity of about 20% of the supermarket stores in the capital Tehran has ceased. Said Darhshani, chairman of the Supermarket Association in the Iranian capital, noted that this trend is a result of rising prices of most basic products due to the country's economic crisis.

Additionally, the head of the Association of Vehicle Showroom Owners in Iran, Said Mutmani, also revealed that 70% of them were closed due to the economic recession.
