A young Arab-Israel couple in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of shooting in a built-up area and possession of weapons the Tel Sheva locality
Tonight, the Israel Police received a report of a shooting in Tel Sheva.
Policemen from the town’s Detective Station and Negev SWAT team located a house where the firearm was allegedly held.
When they come to make an entry, a woman tried to delay them while they notice a suspect who is trying to get out of the back of the house. The policemen launched a foot chase after him, during which he threw an M16 rifle. The suspect was caught and also arrested. During a search of their home, additional weapons items seized in violation of the law, including ammunition and cartridges, were seized.
The two suspects were taken in for questioning and will be brought before a court at the end of the holiday.
This activity reflects the determination of the Israel Police to fight the illegal weapons plague while showing zero tolerance and striving for contact.
