An initial IDF investigation has revealed new details about the terrorist infiltration incident near the Ramim Ridge along the Israel-Lebanon border.
During an IDF operation inside southern Lebanon, troops identified gunfire directed at them. The soldiers returned fire, with the exchange taking place near the border fence. The terrorist was eliminated during the clash.
Following searches of the area, the terrorist’s body was found inside an Israeli enclave located beyond the border fence. This means that the terrorist had formally penetrated Israeli territory, although he apparently did not cross the security fence itself or enter any civilian area. The enclave is a closed military zone.
The terrorist was wearing Hezbollah military-style uniform and was carrying both a firearm and a knife.
