Since April and the Al-Aqsa events, the Palestinians declared a boycott on Israeli goods, but reviewing the latest data proves in the who knows what time that the Palestinian consumer is reliant on the Israeli product and market and that all boycott attempts are bound to fail.
In June, imports from Israel comprised $272 million (about 50 percent of all Palestinian imports during the same month), a significant increase versus $249 million in May -- the month when Operation Guardian of the Walls occurred.
The Palestinian trade deficit against Israel in June 2021 stood at $157 million versus exports to Israel worth $115 million, around 92 percent of all Palestinian exports.
This figure emphasizes once more the almost complete dependence of the Palestinian industry on the Israeli market.
