The Syrian news network operating in the east of the country - Media River - learned, from a private source, that today a meeting was held in the town of al-Tabani, west of Deir a-Zor, which was attended by Russian officers and other forces recruited by Assad's army supported by Iranian militias.

It is worth noting that Russian forces have recently reduced their presence in Deir a-Zor province, and a group of 33 Russian soldiers and officers have been transferred from Deir a-Zor to the Latakia region, apparently in preparation for their transfer to combat on the battlefields in Ukraine.
