The reality of the intolerable routine of life of the people of Iran and not as the West thinks it knows or presents - so claims an Iranian blogger to the American news site "The Wall Street Journal".

"My name is Hussein Ronagi, I am an online blogger and freedom activist from Iran, and I have a message from millions of Iranians desperate to voice to you - the Western media is failing in its role regarding the people of Iran.

There have been five demonstrations across the country against the regime in our country in the last four years. Our government slaughtered the protesters and tortured political prisoners in order to suppress them. But most people in the West, even those who consider themselves aware of what is happening in Iran, do not know this reality because the media coverage in the West is constantly turning a blind eye to reality or denying it.

For us, it's like there are two Iranians: the one we live in and the one you read about. Your Iran is defined by petty nuclear negotiations. Ours is much worse. This is a religious police state where we live in fear, with endless red lines that almost no one dares to cross. This is a state of oppression, censorship and violence. I know - I was in my home Six years in prison.

In Iran, thinking may be considered a crime. The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance enforces this by closing magazines and tearing pages from books. The textbooks that are taught in our schools are saturated with hatred, such as racism against the Baha'i religion and the promotion of terrorism. Our newspapers print lies about the popularity of the government, the history of the country and the demonstrations against the government. Only newspapers approved by the state's intelligence services are allowed to publish.

We lost friends who fought for freedom because of this regime. We were in the regime's prisons and we saw the torture chambers from the inside. Even writing this article might get me back there. But if it's the price of giving a voice to those whose voice is denied to them, it's worth it."
