Israel Police and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) arrested Saturday morning another Arab suspect, the brother of the first detainee, in suspicion over the attack against an Arab boy in Jaffa.
The 12-year-old, Muhammad, was injured when a Molotov cocktail was thrown into his parents' home in the middle of the night last week, during massive riots that shook the country.
At first, some media outlets accused Jews of the incident, reporting it was nationalist extremists who sought revenge. However, Israeli security forces arrested a 20-year-old Arab, who may have incorrectly assumed that the house in Jaffa belonged to a Jewish family.
As the investigation into the incident developed this week, the police arrested the brother of the first suspect as well.
Muhammad, who was severely injured with burns to his face, was initially anesthetized in Sheba hospital. After receiving treatment from the medical staff, the hospital stated that the boy is expected to fully recover.
