Elimelech Carmel served as a reserve lieutenant in the Engineering Battalion during the border battles in the Yom Kippur War and broke through the Syrian line. Elimelech fought at the front for half a year and during the war took an extraordinary collection of photos. Today, his grandson, Nevo, is a lieutenant in the 601st Battalion - an engineering battalion in which Elimelech also served.
