Barak missile passed first test against drones

The lightning missile system met its first challenge today. Will it succeed against a real threat?

The system first intercepted unmanned Hezbollah aircraft, which made their way to the Shark gas rig. Sources in the IDF clarified that the aircraft is an easy target for interception in relation to the critical threat facing it - the advanced "Yakhont" missile, which is also believed to be in the hands of Hezbollah.

The system is the result of an Israeli development in collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Defense, which is installed on Navy Saar 5 missile ships and in the future will also be installed on all Saar 6 shield ships with two types of missiles, long range (about 150 km) and one short range (about 75 km). The biggest threat facing it is cruise missiles, led by a "Yakhont" missile, which is in the Syrian army's arsenal, flying at tremendous speed.
