A well-known saying is that "in the Middle East there is no vacuum" and that is exactly what the Jordanian king is trying to say to anyone who is willing to listen to him.

During his recent visit to the US, the king warned that Russian occupation of Ukraine and the reduction of its interest in Syria would be exploited by Iran. 

Thus, according to the king, incidents have intensified along Jordan's border with Syria. "We have security challenges, we see attacks on the border continuously and we know who is behind it," Abdullah declared.
