The daughter of former president Rafsanjani accuses Iran of genocide in Yemen and Syria

Faza Hashmi Rafsanjani, a reformist politician and daughter of the late Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, attacked the Iranian political system, noting that the Iranian government had committed "genocide of Muslims" in its intervention in Yemen.

In an interview with the Iranian website Dede Ban, Hashemi criticized the policies of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the government of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, saying that "the Iranian government is more dangerous than any government in any other country, that the president Raisi is doing nothing, and that some people "behind the scenes" are running things and they influence its decision-making."

Referring to the appointment of senior officials in Iranian provinces, she added that "all the provinces are now under military control," referring to the appointments of Ibrahim Raisi of several military personnel to take responsibility for the management of local governments in Iranian provinces.

She described the imposition of international sanctions on Iran as "a result of the mismanagement of the Iranian government. If we had the right government, we would not have been sanctioned. Unfortunately, we can not achieve anything, because we have become more wrong than the US and Israeli governments, and we have made mistakes."

Faiza Rafsanjani added: "With statistics I can tell you that our actions were mistaken most of all, and when we make a lot of mistakes, what can we do? If we just want to address the victims of the war in Syria, we have played a role in the deaths of 500,000 people in Syria," referring to Iran's involvement in the Syrian civil war.

Regarding the crisis in Yemen, Faiz Rafsanjani said that "the Iranian government is guilty of genocide against Muslims by intervening in Yemen, which has been going on for seven years, and that the total number of Palestinians killed by Israel is much smaller than the number of Muslim casualties in Iran's proxy wars."

Regarding Iran's population growth policy, Faza Rafsanjani said that Iran needs to investigate the reasons for the decline in population growth, the most important of which are quality of life issues.

In addition to quality of life issues, the daughter of the late President Rafsanjani also saw discriminatory laws and anti-women rights in Iran, and even laws like dowry, another reason why girls and boys did not want to start a family and get married.
