How many times has Israel "violated" the Lebanese airspace?
Doron Peskin, Middle East Expert 16.06.2022
The threat posed by Lebanese chief of staff this week to Lebanon has caused widespread media coverage. In this context, a Lebanese website specializing in air activity monitoring claims that it has the exact number of Israeli violations of Lebanese skies from early 2007 to December 28, 2021.
According to the site, no less than 22,000 violations involving aircraft, UAVs and missiles. According to the website, in 2020 alone, no less than 2,344 Israeli violations were documented.
In Lebanon, it is claimed that the air activity was intended to gather intelligence, create air control and deterrence, and of course actual attacks (especially in Syrian territory)
