Israel and Turkey announced today the renewal of diplomatic relations, after four years of disconnection. It should be noted that despite Erdoğan's hatred towards Israel, this did not affect the trade relations between the countries which only continued to expand.
The business community in Turkey, including those close to Erdogan, made it clear to him that the Israeli market is important enough for them not to try to sabotage trade relations.
Indeed, Erdogan did not act to restrict the steps of Turkish companies in all that was said to trade with Israel. The data shows that the bilateral trade exchange reached a new record of 7.7 billion dollars in 2021, an increase of 30% compared to 2020.
Turkey is Israel's fourth most important trading partner and occupies the fifth place in export destinations.
