Today, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Al-Hadi Muhammad Ibrahim stated that the boycott of Israel law, which had been in force since 1959, "prevented Sudan from entering many very important international organizations." He stressed that his cancellation "does not mean that our relations are normal" with Israel. Ibrahim explained that "all Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Emirates and other Gulf states, along with Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon, maintain (in one form or another) normal relations with Israel."
