ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – The joint Iraqi operation command announced on Sunday the launch of a large-scale security operation against ISIS in two governorates in the center and eastern country. 

The security media cell quoted the statement of the operations command as saying the operation comes under the orders of Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. 

The operation included Diyala And Saladin governorates, according to the statement, and it is conducted under Iraqi air force support.

This operation is in response to the ISIS attacks on Iraqi soldiers in al-Azim region three days ago, which killed 10 soldiers and a colonel.
