Fatah movement officials say senior members of the movement are working to oust Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad a-Shtiya, backed by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
The succession battle at the top of the PA is intensifying, Hussein a-Sheikh and General Majed Faraj, who are closest to PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas, have strengthened their position at the top of the PA, ahead of Mahmoud Abbas' removal from the political stage, and they are now working politically eliminate any senior member of the Fatah movement who may, for them, disrupt their plans to take over the PA leadership.
However, senior Fatah figures say that the leading duo in PA, Hussein a-Sheikh and Majed Faraj, have set themselves the goal of politically eliminating Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad a-Shtiya and bringing about the reconstitution of the Palestinian government with changes in the composition.
