In a meeting with the French president, the Israel foreign minister said that in addition to the military threat, "sanctions should be tightened, because only that will prevent it from continuing its race for nuclear power." Lapid added: "The race did not stop here and the race will not stop in talks in Vienna".
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met tonight (Tuesday) in Paris with French President Emanuel Macron and discussed with him at length the resumption of nuclear talks with Iran. "We will continue to work for the world to fully understand the Iranian threat," Lapid said at the end of the meeting.
"I am now ending three days of talks in London and Paris with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with the Foreign Minister, with French President Emmanuel Macron - on the Iranian nuclear program, in parallel with the nuclear talks in Vienna," Lapid said.
"After many, many years, Israel's position is heard and Israel's position is firm. Sanctions must not be lifted from Iran. Sanctions must be tightened, a real military threat must be placed on Iran because only that will prevent it from continuing its nuclear race."
NEWSRAEL:
1) For Yair Lapid to say: "After many, many years, Israel's position is heard" is like scratching on a chalkboard. As if PM Netanyahu did not bring Israel's position to the world where it was shown on all media channels?
2) Since Yair Lapid thinks he "discovered America" regarding the issue of an Iranian Nuke, why is he not talking about an issue that bothers most of the Middle East - the Iranian missile program? Seems he forgot....
