Blue and White chair, Defense Minister Benny Gantz, said this week in closed conversations that “I am the rug on which [Naftali] Bennett is going to be the prime minister.”
According to sources, who wished to remain anonymous, Gantz is frustrated with the Bennett-Lapid government as he feels he is not receiving the deserved recognition for his role as the one who paved the way to end the rule of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“He thinks that Bennett, [Yair] Lapid and [Gideon] Sa’ar are taking him for granted, even though he’s from the second-largest party in the coalition, and even though he turned down sweeping proposals from Netanyahu until the last moment to form a government with him once more,” one of the sources was quoted as saying.
Blue and White party declined to comment.
