How Assad's cousin proposes revenge in Israel for the latest attack
Doron Peskin, Middle East Expert 12.06.2022
The attack on Damascus International Airport that has put it out of use continues to make headlines.
Derid Assad, a cousin of President Bashar, suggests today via Facebook how the regime should respond. According to him, only an attack on Ben Gurion Airport will be considered an appropriate response. He called "nonsense" the rest of the Assad regime's statements on the subject.
Even those who support the Syrian regime mock Assad for what is considered a lack of response not only to the latest attack but to a long line of Israeli attacks in recent years within Syria. Derid Assad is the eldest son of Rafat Assad, the president's uncle, and he uses Facebook posts to challenge Bashar's conduct, as in the present case.
