Foreign Ministry spokesman in response to the passage of the law banning normalization with Israel in the Iraqi parliament:

Israel condemns the decision of the Iraqi parliament to pass a law against normalization with Israel and imposes the death penalty on anyone who has contact with Israel. It is a law that puts Iraq and the Iraqi people on the wrong side of history and is cut off from reality.

The changes in the Middle East and the peace agreements and normalization of Arab states with Israel, which will bring stability and prosperity to the peoples of the region, are the future of the Middle East.

Leaders who choose the path of hatred and incitement harm their people first and foremost. We call on the Iraqi people not to be dragged down by extremist positions.
