Police spokesperson: The Israel Police arrested on Saturday night 3 suspects on suspicion of the crimes of attempted kidnapping and assault of a young woman resident of the city of Kiryat Malachi - a quick response by the police led to their arrest after they tried to escape by breaking through a police checkpoint.
During the night of Saturday, the police forces in the city of Kiryat Malachi were called following a report received at the emergency center about shouting and violence near a residential building, where police officers who were nearby arrived quickly and noticed a vehicle that had fled with 3 suspects in it.
After the suspects did not respond to the police calls to stop, they began a car chase following them towards the south of the country.
The suspects endangered the lives of road users and the police, hit a private vehicle and later broke through a police checkpoint, and after shooting at them, they stopped at another police checkpoint, where they escaped from the vehicle and were caught after a short foot chase.
From the investigation of the suspects conducted by the Kiryat Malachi station, it emerged that the suspects arrived at the residential building, where one of them allegedly tried to force a young woman with whom he had a prior acquaintance into his car, and after she resisted, during the suspect's escape, they noticed a man holding a mobile device, attacked him and robbed him of the device, which was later located on their escape route.
The suspects' vehicle was impounded for further investigation.
At this time, the suspects are being brought before the Court in Ashkelon with a request to extend their detention.
