President Yitzhak Herzog visited the Gaza Envelope today with Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, met with town councilors, Iron Dome fighters, and inaugurated a school in Sderot. 

The president told the soldiers that they "provide meaning to the defense of the home and the homeland, day in, day out," and stressed that he fully backs the IDF around the criticism against the background of the death of Barel Hadaria Shmueli.
