“Three hours after midnight, a violent crime took place in Karlovy Vary, in which one person suffered serious injuries,” said Jakub Kopriva, a spokesman for the Karlovy Vary Regional Police.

“She was a woman who suffered stab wounds to the chest and abdomen,” said Radek Hes, a spokesman for the Karlovy Vary Regional Rescue Service, according to whom the woman was taken to an “emergency” hospital in Karlovy Vary.

“A man suspected of committing this crime has been detained,” Kopriva continued, adding that criminal investigators were now dealing with the case.

According to Práva, the suspect is a 20-year-old Afghan who came to Karlovy Vary from Germany.

Both acts took place near the Karlovy Vary railway station, and the raped woman was nineteen years old. “We will provide more information as soon as possible,” he did not want to confirm or refute the details at this stage of the investigation.

The stabbed woman is 37 years old.
