The compound in the Afghan capital was attacked by several terrorists, apparently members of ISIS, and two loud explosions shook the place.
At least 50 others were injured in the attack, which once again exposes the Taliban's difficulty in stabilizing the country after occupying it in August.
At least 25 people were killed and 50 others injured in a suicide bombing and shooting at the largest military hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, a Taliban security source said on Tuesday. Taliban spokesman Bilal Karimi said four terrorists had been killed by the organization's forces and a fifth terrorist had been apprehended.
No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack at this time, but the ISIS branch in the country has carried out many deadly attacks in recent months and has been carrying out such combined attacks.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said two explosions took place at the entrance to Sardar Muhammad Daoud Khan Hospital, in the center of Kabul, and security forces were sent to the area. The Italian aid organization Emergency, which runs a hospital for trauma victims about three kilometers from the site of the blast, said nine people had been brought to it so far.
