EGYPT: The record of records in the Suez Canal
The revenues from the Suez Canal constitute an important component of Egypt's foreign exchange revenues, certainly in a year when the country's hard currency reserves are deteriorating.

Today, the Suez Canal Authority estimated that its revenues will reach 7.8 billion dollars this year, thanks to the passage of 23 thousand ships. At an all-time record for revenues from the canal, last year the figure reached 6.3 billion dollars.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian Suez Canal is responsible for the passage of approximately 12% of world trade traffic by sea.
