In the first weekend after Israel and Hamas struck a ceasefire, some 70,000 Israelis took advantage of the warm weather on Saturday and visited national parks and nature reserves.
According to Israel Nature and Parks Authority, around 3,000 people visited the Tel Afek National Park, 2,800 hikers spilled into Caesarea, and around 1,400 visited Ein Gedi in the Dead Sea, En Afek Nature Reserve, and Gan HaShlosha National Park.
However, several national parks in the south remained shuttered as security personnel have not completed the required combing of the area yet.
