Hamas has spoiled the anniversary ceremonies for Suleimani's assassination

Senior Hamas official admits to receiving $22 million from Qassem Suleimani disrupts the anniversary of his assassination

The confession (December 27) of Mahmoud al-Zahar, a senior member of the Hamas political bureau and senior members of the movement, in interviews with a number of TV channels, including Al-Alam, the Iranian propaganda channel to the Arab public, that Qassem Suleimani, commander of the Quds Force assassinated a year ago, handed over to Hamas in 2006 22 million dollars has provoked a wave of angry reactions on Iran's social media in recent days, making the hashtag #Dollar_Bagage "the suitcase of dollars" - a viral trend among Persian speakers, with thousands of mentions in English and Persian.

"I saw ready-made suitcases with $22 million"

Al-Zahar said members of the Hamas delegation, of which he was a member, visited Iran in 2006 and met with Suleimani in Tehran. This, after the then Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressed Suleimani and asked him to take seriously the requests of members of the Hamas delegation.

Al-Zahar noted that during the meeting, members of the delegation stressed the need to help pay salaries and improve Hamas' "Dawa" system in Gaza.

A senior Hamas official added that the day after the meeting with Suleimani, "When we were already at Tehran airport, I saw ready-made suitcases containing $ 22 million. Each suitcase weighed 40 kilograms and no additional dollars could be taken out of Iran even though it was agreed with Suleimani that Iran would transfer more."

It seems that the publication of an extensive article on al-Zahar's remarks, together with a commentary on Radio Farda's popular website on Monday 28.12, caused a huge wave of critical reactions in Iran and abroad and thus severely disrupted the regime's propaganda campaign. Suleimani. Some social media activists mocked Qassem Suleimani and called him "the commander of the dollars" and even showed photos and videos from Gaza showing residents tearing off Suleimani's posters hung by Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip.

"The Commander of Dollars is not the Commander of Hearts"

Messiah Elingad, a well-known US civilian activist, wrote on her Twitter account to supporters of the regime: "They (the authorities) deceived you, he (Suleimani) was the commander of the dollars, not the leader of the hearts" as the regime reiterates in its major campaigns in memory of the assassinated.

"Nasrallah and Haniyeh celebrate with the money of the Iranian people"

Dariusz Zand, a journalist and human rights activist in Iran, wrote on his Twitter account: "The $ 22 million that Qassem Suleimani gave in suitcases to Hamas leaders, funded by the same oil well that a poor worker named Imran Roshni, hung himself on because of the disgraceful poverty and non-payment of wages." (Imran Roshni Mukdam was a worker at the Hubeija oil field in Khuzestan province who committed suicide at an oil well last summer because of his and his colleagues' deplorable economic conditions). Some social media users in Iran have referred to girls in the village of Shinabad who were seriously injured in a fire at their school due to a faulty oven while their medical care was still delayed after many years
