Four suspects were arrested on suspicion of production and trafficking illegally acquired and manufactured weapons, Israel Police announced on Tuesday morning.
The suspects are residents of east Jerusalem and are accused of the illegal import of weapons from China and the US, as well as the production of weapons for trafficking purposes.
In addition to a collection of weapons and ammunition, a 3-D printer used for manufacturing weapons such as knuckle dusters was also confiscated, as well as a stash of illegal drugs.
In the last two months, the detectives of the Blahab 433 Challenge Unit conducted an undercover investigation into the import of illegal weapons from the U.S. and China.
Early yesterday morning, the investigation became public, after the detectives of the unit located two of the suspects, one of them was arrested at the Qalandiya checkpoint together with another suspect when the two were holding pallets of a drug suspected to be hashish weighing about 2 kg.
In the home of another suspect in East Jerusalem, a *3D printer for the production of weapons with a fist inside it* was seized. Many weapons of various types, cartridges, and more were also seized.
A fourth suspect suspected in the import and trade affair was arrested in his car near Mount Hahotsavim in Jerusalem.
