Ministry of Defense spokeswoman: For the first time, IDF and Defense Ministry representatives participated in a military exercise in Morocco
The head of the Middle East and North Africa Brigade in the Defense Ministry's Security Division, which also serves as a defense attaché to Morocco, and two IDF officers participated during the past week as observers in an international military exercise held in Morocco.
The "African Lion 2022" exercise, led by the African Command of the U.S. Army (AFRICOM) and the Royal Army of Morocco (FAR), is the largest annual exercise of the two armies in Africa.
Israel's participation in the exercise is another step in tightening security relations between the defense ministries and armies of the two countries and is a continuation of last year's participation of the Lorraine unit from Morocco in a multinational exercise held in Israel.
