Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safdi said in an interview with Sky News in Arabic that part of the dialogue that the King of Jordan is having in the United States these days is about maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount: "The United States has also emphasized the status quo." 

A-Safdi added that the Temple Mount on its 144 acres is a place of worship only of Muslims: "It is based on international law and history. Any attempt to harm the status quo and any attempt to change it is playing with fire and dragging the region into further tension." 

The King of Jordan is currently in the United States with his wife Queen Rania as part of a private vacation and work visit.
