Failure to unite the Left in Israel - "Our aim is to stop Netanyahu"

Lapid met with Labor and Meretz leaders without an agreement.

The tripartite 'summit' ended after less than an hour later. Labor leader Michaeli at the entrance to the summit: "We disagree on the path, but the goal is clear - to prevent the right-wing from returning to power." 

Meretz leader Zhava Galon said at the end: "A meeting was held in a good atmosphere, the known positions were presented. Meretz is committed to the Union in order to block Netanyahu and Ben Gvir."

Prime Minister Yair Lapid met this evening (Saturday) with Labor's Merav Michaeli and Meretz's Zehava Galon in an attempt to bring about unification in the left.
