Hasakah, Syria (North Press) – Despite announcing control over al-Sina’a prison has regained, the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria, witnesses a state of security unrest, on Thursday, alongside with pursuing of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) members in neighborhoods in addition to uncovering camouflaged terrorist enclaves inside the prison.

A state of an uneasy calm pervaded the southern neighborhoods of the city intermittent by clashes and shooting.

Yesterday at midnight, explosions heard in the southern neighborhoods alongside with shooting, North Press correspondent reported.

Meanwhile, aircrafts of the US-led Global Coalition have been hovering over the area without launching any airstrikes since Thursday at dawn.

Clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and ISIS were mainly carried out in the vicinity of al-Zohour and al-Villat al-Humr neighborhoods, south of the city.

“During these operations, our forces uncovered camouflaged terrorist enclaves in the prison’s northern dormitories,” SDF Media Center said in a statement.

“Between 60 and 90- estimated terrorists barricaded themselves and maintain a distance for the clash,” the statement read.

The statement stressed that the SDF called for a safe surrender by ISIS members and “in case they did not surrender, we will deal with them firmly.”

On the contrast, all neighborhoods of Hasakah are subjected to a curfew which coincided with ongoing combing operations in neighborhood adjacent to al-Sina’a prison.

“About 3,500 terrorist detainees involved in the last mutiny to support the terrorist attackers coming from outside,” the statement noted.
