Back to School: How it Works in the PA

1st of September. Kids in Israel are heading back to school. But the Palestinian Authority (PA) has been giving Israel a schooling for a while already.
Since the Fayyad plan was launched in 2009, one of the tactics employed has been the construction of illegal schools in Area C and on Israeli state lands.
In a report published recently by Regavim, we revealed that 100 schools were built illegally by the PA. These schools are purposely placed in strategic areas, close to already-existing schools, and serve as anchors for new communities.
Remember Khan al Ahmar? It also started with a school. And now it’s a diplomatic hot potato that the State of Israel is failing to deal with.
If the State of Israel doesn’t want to deal with more Khan al Ahmars that are creating facts on the ground in Judea and Samaria, we must stop putting our heads in the sands. For a decade, the Israeli government and authorities have been asleep at the wheel. It’s time to wake up.
