The congresswoman tweeted that Israeli forces arrested an 80-year-old Palestinian-American and beat him to death
In addition, she wrote that the forces destroyed houses in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood: "The brutal act left 15 people homeless"  Erdan: She is "Obsessed with Israel"

The Israeli newspaper "Israel Today" reports that after prominent congresswoman Alexandria Oxio-Cortez attacked Israel over the evacuation of Arab families in the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood of Jerusalem, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan harshly criticized her: "Unfortunately, she is spreading lies against Israel and distorting the truth."

AOC tweeted that "civil rights violations continue to be inflicted on Palestinians living in the occupied territories on a regular basis. Last week, Israeli forces arrested the car of an 80-year-old Palestinian-American, beat him and left him dead. The State Department must investigate this violence."

Erdan said in response: "Her obsession with Israel is clear. She rarely tweets about other conflicts around the world, but does so only with Israel. Why is she not fighting antisemitic attacks against American Jews instead of spreading hatred against Jews in Israel?"

Israel's ambassador to the UN also rejected her remarks and replied: "Look at how you spread your lies: last year, the terrorist organization Hamas (also known as a terrorist organization in the United States) fired missiles at Jerusalem and civilians. You justified the attacks on Jerusalem with an evacuation that is still in legal proceedings in the Israeli Supreme Court."
