When You Move to Israel, the Pieces Fall Into Place!
"When we moved to Israel almost three years ago, I was not sure what my career path looked like. I wanted to take some time to get everyone settled while we focused on my husband's career. I had taught in the states for 18 years and those who know me, know I am a passionate educator.

However, my focus in the states was Judaic studies and I had been warned that education in Israel looked very different. Six months into Aliyah, my daughter's school needed a sub for a teacher who went on bed rest. It was the perfect timing, I was ready for a challenge and needed some structure to my day.

I started subbing, then transferred my degrees. Last year I did staj (internship) and got my Israeli license and B"H next year in addition to teaching, I am becoming the Olim coordinator.

Today I gave my first tour of the school to a family making Aliyah and it felt great. I feel like I have found my role, with Hashem watching over me, the role of helping teenage Olim in their adjustment here in Israel. It took some time to find my place but I am happy to have the opportunity to continue working in the field of education and doing what I know best."

Nechama Konigsberg, who made Aliyah (immigrated to Israel) with Nefesh B'Nefesh in 2018, shares her story of moving and living the dream in the Holy Land.
