Jordanian King Abdullah II revealed on Monday that his country had been attacked by drones with Iranian footprints on them.
“Unfortunately, Jordan was attacked a year ago by UAVs, which turned out to have Iranian characteristics, and we had to deal with them. Things are only getting worse and escalating,” he told CNN while on tour in the U.S.
It is the first time that Jordan explicitly states that Iran stood behind a drone attack against Jordanian targets.
The king further expressed his support in dialogue -- referring to Washington’s preference to return to the negotiation table with Tehran -- but stipulated that “there are legitimate concerns from our point of view because of many issues we hope the Americans will discuss with the Iranians.”
