Famed Zionist activist Ida Nudel passed away today at the age of 90.

 

She was an iconic leader of the refusenik movement (Russian Jews who were "refused" of leaving the Soviet Union and making Aliyah to Israel), who worked tirelessly to help Jews who struggled to immigrate to Israel and also campaigned for the release of “Prisoners of Zion.”

 

In 1987, she left Soviet Union for Israel and worked in children's education.
