When it comes to returning to the nuclear agreement Israel has lost its leverage and "aligned" itself with the Biden government

According to IDF sources, the chief of staff ordered the Air Force to return to training on the attack on the nuclear facilities in Iran after a two-year hiatus, which severely damaged the IDF's readiness to attack.

This decision is positive but the real question is: Is Israel preparing politically for such an attack, for as things stand now, Israel is reluctantly adopting the Biden administration's line to address the Iranian nuclear threat.

The security cabinet convened a few days ago to discuss recent developments on the Iranian nuclear issue, the conclusion that emerged from the lengthy discussion involving all important intelligence agencies was that Iran is in no hurry to return to the nuclear talks in Vienna.

The Israeli assessment is that Iran prefers to take time to continue to enrich uranium while in the meantime, contrary to the restrictions of the nuclear agreement, in order to become a nuclear "threshold state" and also to increase its bargaining power vis-à-vis the powers. 

Even if Iran agrees in the future to return to the nuclear agreement from 2015, it will not agree to any change, this is the assessment in Jerusalem.

This means that Iran will soon become a country that has the technology and operational capability to build nuclear weapons, but it will refrain from doing so until the decision of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei falls.
