The war in Ukraine poses real challenges for Western arms manufacturers and suppliers and the stockpiles that are being depleted will take longer than expected to return them to their state as it was before February 24th.
This is especially true of essential weapons such as artillery shells that are the mainstay of the current campaign. Lack of sufficient production capacity, shortage of manpower and problems in the global supply chain all lead to a relatively long renewal schedule in the West, the Financial Times reports.
The proportions are mentioned in the article that the total annual production in the US of 155 mm diameter artillery shells, for example, is enough for at least two weeks of combat in Ukraine.
This is another lesson of the Ukraine War that Israel needs to address.
