Between November 25 and 27, 2021, the Irankargar YouTube channel posted several videos showing Iranian security forces cracking down on farmers and civilians in Isfahan who were protesting government policies leading to the drying of the Zayanderud.
The videos, which were filmed by protesters at the dry riverbed, showed police officers in riot gear, some on motorcycles, trying to disperse the crowds with tear gas and firing weapons.
The videos also showed burning tents, and protestors saying that the security forces set the tents on fire. In one video, a woman is heard saying: "There are no [real] men in this country! [Otherwise the police] wouldn't be so impudent!"
Man: "Don't be afraid! Don't be afraid! Do not back down! Do not back down! Do not back down! They won't hurt you, they don't have the guts to hurt you."
