What a beautiful scene! MUST SEE!
During the recent beret ceremony for the elite IDF Oz Brigade (aka Commandos Brigade), the Brigadier general noticed a boy with Down's syndrome who was trying to reach his brother who is serving in the elite Mista'arvim unit known as Duvdevan.
The boy's family members tried to prevent him from reaching his brother and interrupting the ceremony - but the Brigadier got up from his seat near the speaker's stand, approached the boy, shook his hand - and asked him: "Would you like to give your older brother the beret?"
The brigadier general led him to the square and he got to present his brother with the red beret.
The Oz Brigade is made up of Maglan, Duvdevan and Egoz. 2 of my good friends served in Duvdevan and Egoz.
