An attempted stabbing attack took place today (Monday) at the Gush Etzion junction. The terrorist, an Israeli Arab from the village of Akeb in East Jerusalem, got out of a vehicle near an IDF post armed with a knife, and tried to stab one of the fighters. In response, the fighter fired at the terrorist. There were no casualties from IDF forces.
IDF fighters are now pursuing the vehicle in which the terrorist arrived at the scene.
The event takes place against the background of an ongoing Arab violence in Gush Etzion, with an increase in events involving stone throwings and molotov cocktails towards drivers and localities in recent weeks.

The fighter fired at the neutralized terrorist. IDF forces are now pursuing the vehicle in which the terrorist arrived.
During the manhunt and the positioning of checkpoints in Judea and Samaria, the driver of the vehicle suspected of transporting the terrorist who tried to stab a soldier in Gush Etzion, recently turned himself in to the Civil Administration.
